Each month, a new edition of HoofSearch covers the wide world of equine lameness and hoof research:It collects new papers on diagnostics and imaging, surveys research on racing safety and injury, and brings you specific papers on breed/sport foot problems, equine podiatry and biomechanics. A live table of contents allows you to jump between 15 topics. Of course, it delves deeply into laminitis and the latest research on insulin dysregulation, as well as all aspects of equine rehabilitation, navicular disease, imaging, diagnostics, arena/track surfaces, anatomy, and even new research on stable management. environmental impacts, and therapeutic medications and treatments.
All you need is a browser-equipped digital device like a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Add to that a verifiable email address. You must be connected to the Internet to open the documents, and be signed in to your email account.
HoofSearch reports on new peer-reviewed research in the fields of equine podiatry, farriery, hoofcare, and lameness. Monthly digital reports list, describe, and link subscribers to virtually all new peer-reviewed articles, theses, patents, and conference proceedings from around the world. HoofSearch covers 15 equine lameness topics, from anatomy to stable management, therapeutics, rehabilitation and all aspects of diagnostics and imaging, with emphasis on hoof research, equine foot diseases, farriery, and biomechanics.
HoofSearch is lighting up computer and smartphone screens around the world. It is read by leading researchers, clinicians, educators, and all types of equine professionals.
HoofSearch collects all the new research for you and sends you one email a month. That email contains a link to open your HoofSearch document, which is usually 60-100 pages. You can quickly scroll through it all or you can take the time to dig deep and explore peer-reviewed articles relevant to your professional practice. The document consists of citations, abstract snippets, and links to all the peer-reviewed papers and patents published on equine podiatry, hoof research, and equine lameness during that month.
Each listing in HoofSearch gives full citation data, plus a designation of whether the article is free to read or requires library or subscription access. About 80 percent of articles are free to read. A snippet from the article's abstract gives reader a general idea of what the article contains. Whenever possible, images and captions from Open Access articles are included. Subscribers either scan through the pages of listings, or click on the article titles to open the actual full text articles or full abstracts as provided by the journals. Readers can then decide whether to read the article online, download the full PDF to their own computers, or go on to more articles.
